We are the Phoenix 11
11 survivors of child sexual abuse and child sexual abuse material that in most cases has been distributed on the Internet.
Today, we speak for a collective of survivors—many of whom will never be identified or ever have their voices heard.
We all know, at this point, that child sexual abuse on the internet is a global epidemic.
The internet, as it exists now, is more unsafe for children than any of us could have ever imagined it would become.
Babies, toddlers, and children are being targeted as prey online.
Their abuse, rapes, and tortures are being recorded, photographed, and live streamed, to satisfy the demands of pedophiles.
Every 60 seconds, 32 reports involving suspected child sexual abuse are made to the NCMEC CyberTipline.
It does not need to stay this way.
No matter who you are, you should want to do whatever you can to stop this epidemic.
And, to save future generations from the horrific abuse that has already been experienced by so many millions of children.
Today, we ask you to be the solution, and to pass the Earn It Act swiftly.
